Reef Lodge is located close to other amenities such as Carrington Golf Course, Karikari Estate Winery and is also a great base for trips to Cape Reinga and surrounding areas. The Karikari Peninsula is reknowned for great beaches such as Matai Bay.

Kitesurfing and windsurfing are also very popular at Rangiputa and the surrounding area.

The historic village of Mangonui is approx. 20 minutes drive and the town of Kaitaia is approx. 40 minutes.
